1. Definition of Fargo-Moorhead Area Softball Community
Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, and surrounding communities including Horace, Tri-River League, Dilworth, Cass & Clay counties, as well as teams/players participating in the Fargo, Moorhead, or West Fargo fast pitch and slow pitch softball leagues are eligible
2. Nomination Process
- A nominee, to be eligible for nomination in a current election, must submit the application prior to the date of the Hall of Fame Council election meeting of that year. (Usually late June)
- Anyone may nominate a person for the Fargo-Moorhead Softball Hall of Fame.
- If available, attach copies of any news clippings, letters of recommendation, and other pertinent information.
- Council members may seek additional information from the person making the nomination.
- Nominations remain active for a period of five years and will be reconsidered each year. If the nominee has not then been elected, the nomination is returned to the sponsor.
- An individual or team is eligible to be re-nominated following the 5-year period.
3. Awards and Presentation
A special gift will be given to those elected to the Hall of Fame and a framed picture of inductee will be displayed in the Fargo Moorhead Area Softball Hall of Fame pavilion at the Fargo Northside softball complex. The presentation will take place at the annual Fargo Moorhead Area Softball Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
4. Qualifications and Criteria to be Inducted
- Minimum of 15 years active involvement in the Fargo-Moorhead softball community as either a player, umpire, manager, sponsor, meritorious service, or combination of the aforementioned.
- An individual must be a minimum 45 years old.
- The above does not apply to TEAM NOMINATIONS. A nominated team’s roster must consist of 75% of the players originally from or residing in the Fargo-Moorhead area when they were playing as a team.
